A group of childhood friends are reunited at a luxury inn, in remote west Ireland. As a storm builds outside, the dark events that marked their childhood threatens to resurface. When a body is discovered the group is faced with a shocking realisation- there is a killer amongst them, and not everyone will escape with their life.
I don’t even know what is was that make this book so boring for me. It might just have been one of those things- sometimes you just can’t get into a book. I felt like they kept mentioning things throughout the book and then not explaining what they meant by it. Then, in the last 2/3 pages everything was kind of explained in a rushed way- like it was just thrown in to try and tie everything together. I felt that the whole story was a bit disjointed. We didn’t see the main characters interact enough as a group for me. There was always someone missing from the scene, whether they were gone to get something or gone exploring, etc. It took away from the fact they were having a reunion for me. It also had no twists which I had been hoping for because they revealed everything way too soon- I honestly thought this was just trying to make the reader think it had been solved and there’d be a big twist at the end, but there wasn’t which was disappointing. The one thing I did like about the book was the setting and the middle of the book did provide some excitement and mystery.
