Aldrich University is sent into chaos when an email hack reveals life changing secrets and scandals. The staff, students, faculty and alumni all have their emails uploaded onto an easily searchable database. Rumours of affairs and scandals immediately leak, and things take a dark turn when Kit Manning’s husband, Greg Strasser, is found murdered. Kit’s journalist sister Willa returns to the town she fled 15 years ago following a night she wishes she could forget. She becomes determined to solve the murder and the events surrounding it. What she doesn’t know is that everyone has secrets, how far will they go to keep them secrets?
This book was not what I was expecting. I have read a good few of the Pretty Little Liars books and the Perfectionist series, and for some reason I thought this would be similar. It wasn’t at all, it was definitely an adult book rather than teenage/young adult. I thought the story was great, and the concept of a leak was something which I hadn’t read before. The only issue I really had was the alternative point of views. I have no problem with different character views at all, but I honestly felt like each individual character could have had a book of their own! I would have loved to have seen more of the details of Lynn’s marriage and it’s beginning, or more of Laura and Olly’s relationship. All the characters and the story came together really well, I just wanted more information on their backgrounds and how their relationships evolved. It’s a good sign that I wanted more from the book, it shows that it was well written and had a good story. I would definitely recommend this book to all of you guys!
