All Anna wants to do is sleep… but crippling insomnia, night terrors and her own memories are preventing this. To escape, she takes a job on the remote Scottish island of Rum. But when seven guests join, what started as a retreat turns into a nightmare. Each of the guests is lying about something- but one is lying about who they are and why they’re on the island. There’s a murderer in the hotel- with their sights set on Anna.
I read Sleep about 2 months ago- it surpassed my expectations. I love these sort of thrillers- I’m especially a fan of books set on remote islands 😂 I know, not for everyone. I really think remote islands and bad weather add to a thriller- and this book, much to my delight, has both. I really liked the different characters. It was easy to see they were all secretive and I loved learning their secrets. However, similar to Lock Every Door, I felt like there could have been a few more scares. With it being set on a remote island in bad weather, the spookiness could really have been amped up in my opinion. I know not everyone will be into that, and will like the book the way it is, I just love a good scare! Would definitely recommend this book!
