It was at Gipsy’s acre that Mike met Ellie- the girl he was going to marry. She is a rich American woman (one of the richest women in the world) while he is a wanderer, going from job to job. He attends the auction at Gipsy’s acre with no money to his name but upon meeting Ellie this changes. The couple soon move into the house at Gipsy’s acre but the house is not quite the dream home they had expected. They’re warned that danger will come to them in this house- the book shows the mysterious crime which occurs at the place where the story began: Gipsy’s acre.
Another 24 hour read! Fresh off reading Death on the Nile I was so excited to get straight into another Agatha Christie. This book did not disappoint. The way Christie builds up to the story is so interesting and you can’t help but want to keep reading. Each chapter draws you in to the characters and their lives more and more. This book keeps you guessing the whole way through as the crime isn’t revealed until late in which makes it tough to guess what the mystery is. It is by no means a slow burner though, the lead up to the crime is just as interesting as the crime itself. Would definitely recommend. Now on to my next read, another Agatha Christie! This time, murder on the orient express.
Tomorrow is my 21st birthday and I’m treating myself to some new books! Thinking of picking up the new Shari Lapena, Lisa Jewell & Riley Sager books and I read Sleep by C.L Taylor recently so might also pick up a few more of her books as I loved sleep! Will also look in the charity shops to see if I see anything there! Very excited 😆💃
