Jane Hughes has a loving partner, a job in an animal sanctuary and a tiny cottage in rural Wales. She’s happier than she’s ever been.. but her life is a lie. Jane Hughes does not really exist. Five years earlier Jane and her then best friends went on holiday but what should have been the trip of a lifetime rapidly descended into a nightmare that claimed the lives of two of the women. Jane has tried to put her past behind her but someone knows the truth about what happened. Someone who won’t stop until they’ve destroyed Jane and everything she loves.
Personally, I found this book a bit disappointing. I did enjoy the storyline and I really liked the alternation between past and present. I had so many ideas of what was going on in my head, I was hoping for a major twist that would shock me. That just never happened. The ending was such a let down, which was a shame because I had been enjoying the book! For me, a bad ending just ruins the whole book. Even if the storyline is amazing, I’ll remember the bad ending more than the story. So for me, I liked the book and I wouldn’t be saying don’t buy it, but don’t expect major twists and turns either!
