Monday: an elevator malfunctions leaving a number of New Yorkers dead. A fluke right?
Tuesday: a second elevator malfunctions.
Wednesday: more chaos in New York.
New York is sent into chaos when a series of events lead citizens fearing their city is under attack. Will the mayor be able to control the events? Will journalist Barbara figure out what is causing the chaos? Is the Russian murder victim connected to the events?
First of all, I waited MONTHS for this book. I then had to nearly fight the library to get my time with it extended (long story). I was almost afraid to read it in case it wasn’t worth the wait. However, it definitely, 100%, was worth every second of the wait. I did take a few days to read it, but that had absolutely nothing to do with the story and it’s quality. I was just tired from exams lol 😂 I loved the way the story was told day by day. It built up the fear which these malfunctions were causing brilliantly. I kept changing my mind about what or who was causing the chaos- they introduce lots of characters so there’s many possibilities to choose from. The ending finished things out nicely, I was left with no questions at all which is great. If you’re into thrillers with a a sort of almost fantasy (not even sure if that’s the right word) element, get this.
