After her childhood sweetheart, Freddie, dies in a car accident, Lydia’s two lives consist of the harsh new reality while she is awake and her sweet dreams of him at night. Will she ever feel ready to move on from her intense grief?
This was a tender look at the grief process and felt very real (yet, somehow, not at all bleak or depressing). At first, it reminded me of Maybe in Another Life by Taylor Jenkins Reid so I was glad when it veered in a totally different direction. I very much enjoyed this story about Lydia’s two lives and how they finally merged back into one. The ending was very sweet, and I teared up in one part.
