Our love story is simple. I met a gorgeous woman. We fell in love. We had kids. We moved to the suburbs. We told each other our biggest dreams, and our darkest secrets. And then we got bored. We look like your normal couple. We’re your neighbours, the parents of your kid’s friend. We all have our own secrets to keep our marriages alive. Ours just happen to be getting away with murder.
I haven’t read a book like this before. We usually are told the story of victims of murder or other crimes. Other books about murder tend to be murder mystery novels. It’s not often we get to see the story of the murderers. I honestly can’t recommend this enough. The story of this book was just told so well. I wasn’t sure about the storyline when I first read the blurb, I thought it would be weird to read a book from the point of view of a murderer. But it absolutely wasn’t. It kind of shows that murderers can just be everyday people, people we pass each day on the street. The relationship between Millicent and her husband was very interesting to read about. They seem to egg each other on in a way, neither of them curb the other’s dark side. The story never slowed down or got boring. I was drawn in from page one until the very last page. The ending was absolutely perfect. One of my absolute pet hates is a great book with a mediocre ending, but this certainly did not have that problem! Definitely would recommend getting this book, it was well written with a unique and interesting story. Loved it.
