Couldn’t decide which photo I liked better so I’m posting them both!
Genre: Historical Fiction

Set in 1945 rural England, residents of a small town bond over their love of Jane Austen’s books and unite to preserve her memory and her belongings.

The story started out slow (lots of set up) but finally picked up for me around page 75. I was delighted by the eclectic cast of characters–Frances the last surviving Austen heir, Benjamin the local doctor, Adeline the local teacher, Adam the local farmer, and wait, what? Mimi the Hollywood actress!–and eagerly awaited to find out how everything would play out and how the characters would couple up hehe. Although I was left angry and frustrated by one part of the conclusion, the rest of the ending made up for it… with one piece even bringing tears to my eyes! Overall, this was a lovely story and an entertaining debut.

Location: England (Chawton, Hampshire)

I received an advance copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
