THE WICKED CITY by @authorbeatriz from @williammorrowbooks!

In 1998, Ella is newly separated from her husband, Patrick, after she caught him cheating on her. In 1924, Geneva (aka Ginger/Gin for her red hair), works in a typing pool during the day and enjoys partying at speakeasies at night. Both residents of the “wicked” New York City, Gin is especially adventurous and becomes involved with a Prohibition Agent even though she herself loves to drink. “Don’t you do nothing stupid, back there in the wicked city.” – Johnnie to Gin

The story alternates between the two women, and I was absolutely in awe of how different the voices were of the two characters! For instance, I found the first chapter about Ella a bit stuffy and almost boring but then when it switched to 1924, I felt fully immersed in the time period and personality of Gin’s “flapper” character. How are the two stories related? Read this descriptive, atmospheric, often humorous tale to find out!

Since I’m left wanting to know more about these characters, it’s a good thing that the sequel, is arriving next week!
