Carly’s aunt Viv disappeared 35 years ago. Grieving the loss of her mother, Carly decides to follow in her aunt’s footsteps by also getting a job at the Sun Down Motel in upstate New York. And, oh yeah, not only is this motel where she disappeared from, but it’s also haunted. Does this sound like a good idea to you?! Once there, she discovers that her aunt wasn’t the only young woman to go missing from the small, remote town of Fell. “If you want to meet people who make an art of not being curious, go to the Sun Down Motel.” I loved The Broken Girls by this author and was so excited when I received an advance copy of this one. Ms. St. James is a master at blending ghosts into the story while still allowing it to be believable. Just like Girls, I was drawn into this mystery from page one. Alternating between Carly in 2017 and Viv in 1982, Motel was creepy good and I didn’t want to put it down.

Location: Fell, New York

I received an advance copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
