You’ve been held captive in one room. You’ve been mentally and physically abused every day since you were sixteen years old. Then one night you realize your captor has left the door to your cell unlocked. For the first time in eight years you’re free. This is what happens next… Escape was just the beginning.
I enjoyed this one! Now, I’m not sure it’s for everyone because I know not all of people like books about people being kidnapped. But this book doesn’t focus on the kidnapping a lot- it’s more about the aftermath of her escape. To be honest we don’t get much details of what happened while Lily was being held captive. For me personally, I would have liked to see more of Lily’s life with her kidnapper. It also wasn’t much of a thriller. From close to the beginning, we know who kidnapped Lily. Those two aspects could have been improved, in my opinion. However, other than that I really enjoyed the story and found it be quite engrossing and I felt connected to the characters. I wanted to keep reading and find out what happened next. Would definitely recommend!
